This training is an asynchronous course designed to prepare ELD coordinators to manage the various components of ELD program implementation and administration During this course, participants will take an in-depth look at procedures related to EL identification, placement, assessment, reclassification, monitoring and reporting. Additional topics covered will include LIEP design and evaluation, ELD instructional designs, EL student growth, and communicating with parents and families. Time for district-specific application will be provided. We have also included a section to review current guidance given times of school closure and remote learning. This offering was built on and expands upon the PDE ELD Coordinator training.
While this session is designed to progress at your own pace, there will be opportunities to network with other ELD Coordinators, collaborate over concepts presented, and ask questions to each other and the facilitators regarding the content. Optional Zoom check-ins will provide a chance for synchronous conversations and will include time for Q&A. These sessions will occur on September 21 from 9:00 AM-11:00 AM and October 15 from 1:00 PM-3:00 PM.
