Effective mathematics instruction is centered on the foundation of the eight teaching practices, student practices, and beliefs about teaching and learning mathematics. Participants will explore the eight research-based essential mathematics teaching practices, their purpose during instruction, and what they look like through the lens of the teacher and students. In addition, participants will learn about the eight student mathematics practice standards and their function for supporting student learning.
