Registration for the Fall 2022 Cohort will open on July 1, 2022.

The WRS Level I Certification program is designed to prepare teachers to effectively implement Steps 1-6 of the Wilson Reading System® with students reading and spelling below grade level and those diagnosed with language based learning disabilities. Participants will demonstrate mastery of the Wilson Reading System® or WRS lesson plan, including multisensory techniques and effective strategies in a 1:1 setting. Certification provides extensive professional learning and support for teachers to effectively implement the program with fidelity. Certification includes approximately 90 hours of online instruction, a minimum 65-lesson practicum including demonstrations, and five observations with feedback from a Wilson® credentialed trainer.

This path to WRS Level I Certification involves online coursework and live, web-based practicum observations with a Wilson® Credentialed Trainer. Participants should be comfortable with the use of computers.

MCIU Registration:
Please carefully review the WRS Level I Certification, Web-Based Practicum , and Technical Requirements prior to registration, as the commitment is considerable. It is highly recommended that you have a practicum student in mind who appears to fit the selection criteria.
