Our MTSS sessions center on system design, data-based decision making, instructional alignment, and academic intervention planning. UDL sessions focus on designing flexible learning environments that accommodate learner variability and ensure access for all. Participants will engage in collaborative problem-solving, explore practical applications of the UDL framework, and receive support to apply these practices in their unique settings.

UDL Offerings
Digital Accessibility Using A Universal Design for Learning Mindset
Explore how digital design can transform access, belonging, and opportunity across your school community. This engaging professional learning experience invites all school-based employees to discover how Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) can support more inclusive digital spaces for students, families, and staff.
Participants will learn how accessibility goes beyond compliance, becoming a proactive design mindset that strengthens communication, learning, and engagement for everyone. Through practical exploration, participants will examine a digital resource, tool, or system within their own school context, identify barriers, and develop actionable plans to improve access and inclusion.
Universal Design for Learning CoLab: Collaborate. Customize. Cultivate
Series begins Tuesday, September 29, 2026 | 9:00 AM-3:00 PM
Join school teams from across Montgomery County for a multi-day professional learning experience centered on Universal Design for Learning (UDL). Through collaboration, expert guidance, and a supportive community of practice, your team will explore how UDL can address a self-identified problem of practice. Whether you’re new to UDL or looking to deepen your work, you’ll gain practical strategies and tools to create more inclusive learning environments and drive meaningful change in your school or district.
Meeting dates are September 29th, November 12th, and January 21st from 9:00am-3:00pm each day.
Strengthening Tier 1 Math Instruction by Embracing UDL (K-12)
Thursday, November 5, 2026 | 9:00 AM-3:00 PM
This full-day session will allow participants to dive into effective mathematics teaching practices aligned with Universal Design for Learning (UDL). The session will include unpacking standards and learning progressions, identifying skill gaps, and implementing evidence-based strategies to support all learners. Educators will analyze instructional design choices and engage in application activities to enhance their classroom practices. Participants will explore instructional design moves that foster accessibility and engagement through hands-on activities with fellow educators. Come prepared to learn, participate, and apply your knowledge.
Universal Design for Learning for the Special Area and Related Arts Teacher
In this one-day session, participants will learn about the foundational concepts of Universal Design for Learning and how they connect to their specific context as a special area and/or related arts teacher.
CoTeaching Offerings
Enhancing Co-Teaching with Universal Design for Learning
Co-Teaching is a collaborative approach that ensures students have access to, and contribute to, meaningful learning. In this session, you will explore how Universal Design for Learning can provide a framework for two collaborative educators to remove barriers and enhance practices and outcomes. Participants will explore resources, develop classroom rituals and routines, and think about environmental barriers that could be removed to create a more inclusive setting in the classroom. We encourage co-teaching pairs to register together for this session because of the collaboration opportunities throughout the day.
Leading Effective Co-Teaching Systems

This professional learning series is designed for school and district leaders who are committed to creating sustainable, effective co-teaching models that support inclusive education and improve outcomes for all learners. This series extends beyond the classroom to explore the crucial role of leadership in developing, implementing, and maintaining high-quality co-teaching practices.
Participants will explore the foundational elements of successful co-teaching systems, including scheduling, staffing, professional development, and data-informed decision making. Through practical frameworks and real-world examples, this series empowers administrators to create conditions that enable co-teaching teams to thrive, fostering shared ownership, collaborative planning, and equitable instruction.
Meeting dates are October 6th, December 1st, and February 9th.

Leading Change: Building Inclusive and Comprehensive Multi Tiered Systems of Support (PIL24)
This 7-module hybrid course (synchronous and asynchronous) is designed to explore, define, and apply leadership concepts for planning for Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) at the system (school or district) level. It is designed for all leaders including principals, district level administrators, teacher leaders and MTSS coordinators who are building or currently implementing MTSS.
Registration includes the text In Support of Students: A Leader’s Guide to Equitable MTSS (Novak & Rodriguez, 2023)
50 Act 45/48 credit hours will be awarded for participants who complete the course.
