Since the 2014-15 school year, Pennsylvania Positive Behavior Support PaPBS Network facilitators from the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit (MCIU) have trained, coached and provided technical assistance to over 47 schools within the county.Ā  Thirty-six (36) of those schools received state recognition in November 2022 from the Pennsylvania Positive Behavior Support (PaPBS) Network for implementing PBIS.

PBIS (Positive Behavior and Intervention Supports) is part of the Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) framework.Ā  MTSS is an evidenced-based structure systematizing and streamlining how we grow our students academically, behaviorally and social-emotionally. Ā  Data driven with an emphasis on shared leadership, PBIS proactively focuses on a strong foundation of Social-Emotional education including direct, explicit instruction on expected behaviors (Lane,et al.,2015).
