Understanding the PA Science Standards and the Instructional Shifts Needed for Successful Implementation

This is a blended course with both synchronous and asynchronous components. There are 4 hours of asynchronous work, and a 2 hour synchronous session on 1/24 from 4:00pm-6:00pm.

Have you been wondering about Pennsylvania’s new science and environmental literacy standards and how you interpret them? This session will build participant’s understanding around the standards as well as the premise of teaching science while using observable phenomena in the classroom. The three dimensions of science teaching and learning, science and engineering practices, crosscutting concepts, and disciplinary core ideas will be explained and explored.
