The WRS Level I Certification program is designed to prepare teachers to effectively implement Steps 1-6 of the Wilson Reading System with students reading and spelling below grade level and those diagnosed with language based learning disabilities. Participants will demonstrate mastery of the Wilson Reading System or WRS lesson plan, including multisensory techniques and effective strategies in a 1:1 setting. Certification provides extensive professional learning and support enabling teachers to effectively implement the program with fidelity. Certification includes approximately 90 hours of online instruction, a 65-lesson practicum including demonstrations, five observations, and feedback from a Wilson credentialed trainer.

This path to Wilson Reading System (WRS) Level I Certification involves online coursework and live, web-based practicum observations with a Wilson Credentialed Trainer. Participants should be comfortable with the use of computers.

Please carefully review the WRS Level I Certification information, Web-Based Practicum requirements, and Technical Requirements prior to registration, as the commitment is considerable. It is highly recommended that you have a practicum student in mind who appears to fit the selection criteria.
